This week I tried the Mac studio fix and the Estee Lauder double wear foundations, I wore both exactly 10 hours each. Estee Lauder retails for 42 dollars some pros are it stays in place, does not crease, easily applied, only one layer is needed. While wearing it felt sticky to the touch, even though I was only wearing 1 layer it.My biggest problem with this foundation was that after I applied in the morning in a few hours it would wear off around my nose and if I reapplied around my nose area it would look uneven and it was noticeable on where I freshly applied the foundation. Another problem was it didn’t conceal my pores but to me, it actually showcased them which I did not really like. It does have a wear time of 12 hours. On the other hand, the Mac studio fix foundation retails for 29 dollars, this foundation is my go to, Medium to full coverage depending on how many layers are used.

Pros included very easy to apply, powder sets it in place nicely Can add more on top without patches or crease, does not dry too fast, reasonably priced. Mac does not have many cons but the biggest problems would have to be how oily it looks after a couple of hours if it is not set with a powder and it always causes me to break out which depending on your skin type is not a make or break. Another factor of these foundations both come in glass bottles, which may be a worry for some (I have yet to drop one) and although neither foundation comes with a pump, this does not bother me but may bother some people. After using Studio Fix I decided a longer wearing foundation is more important to me mac studio fix only has an 8 hour wear time and it truly shows. When it comes to blending, Mac has a very dewy natural finish which would be good for a summer look, Estee Lauder has a matte finish very practical for a night out on the town they both have a reasonably fast drying time so you have to blend almost as fast as you put in on. I apply with beauty blender or brush and has great coverage.

Both brands have a large range of skin tones so it’s very inclusive. Overall the Estee Lauder seems to be the better foundation because of how long it stays on and its coverage.
